I had a nice run in with evil. I poetically began searching through my stacks of writing and found this piece that I wrote back in 2006.  I needed it.  So glad I found it.  I hope it may help someone else.

Stand Strong

People may never understand who you are. Or the person whom you wish to be.
They will live to tear apart your life. And enjoy watching you as you suffer from within.
They will strive to bring you pain. And love the tears you shed as you cry out in pain.
Your wails will please their souls,
and even then,
you must not lose yourself. Be Strong.
As you promise to change the world,
People will try to kill you,
Try to destroy what you do, what you dream. Do not lose yourself.
You must not let go of your dream, of what you believe in.
Stand Your Strongest.
When you feel you are changing the world,
They will destroy the very roads you’ve paved.
And even then,
You must not lose yourself. Become Even Stronger.
There will be those who are jealous of whom you are and the work you do.
Not only because the work you produce exceeds theirs,
But because you are much better.
The very ones you love and say they love you will hurt you, betray you
and steal what is very much yours.
And even then you must not lose yourself. Stand Strong.
Your anger and your fear will collide,
You will be told that God has left you.
The world’s very own demons will even try to kill you.
They will fight with the very angels that you do not know are fighting by your side.
You will feel tortured and alone,
Your blood may boil as your agony burns like fire inside your soul,
And even then you must not lose yourself. You must Stand Stronger.

Hello everyone! I wanted to post something so you knew what has been going on here at Strong Truths, even though you can’t see all of it quite yet!

With this brand new website we’ve been using, comes a new layout for all the members as well.  Also new features and that also means growth! Which is great! I am happy we are growing! So what is going on with Strong Truths right now? (be sure to add us on twitter for more updates twitter.com/strongtruths)

Web Building! – Members pages!

However, web building is quite time consuming for one lady like myself! But it’s coming along! I’ve emailed a few of you that your webpage and account has been moved and created for the website! You just visit the members area, click your name and log in! For the rest of you that haven’t heard from me I am working on it! You will receive an email from me (strongtruths@ymail.com).

I’m working on a beautiful page for Verse, which has been on standby ever since everything went a little bigger than predicted! But it’s fantastic and will be back very soon! 

New Visual Arts Contributors

Finally! We’ve been blessed to get our word out to more visual artists! I am pleased for this past month with new contributors which will be introduced to you this month. So keep an eye out, i’ll post here when I update the website. You’re going to love that. 

Editing

I have been going though everyones work along with Kaitlyn Wightman who has been assisting me this past month. So just as school is ending you will be receiving your edits of your work that you have sent to us! So get your creative minds ready! 

Those are just a few quite ‘news flash’ of what i’m doing if you’re not hitting up the strongtruths pages as often as others! I’ll be in touch!

This June a new section titled Affliction will become a part of the Strong Truths Community. As youths and young adults, what we take in each day is what defines our lives. However, our difficult as well as our great moments shape us as artists and lead to many strong creations.

Affliction will be a place where we discuss our daily lives, voicing our day especially if it was a rough one. It will be a place to have someone hear our words or learn from someone’s experience. We can discuss stresses of our lives such as school, family, friends, abuse (verbal & physical), racial issues, learning difficulties or other set backs. We can discuss pressures such as drugs, smoking, alcohol, and dating. Our identity, the awkwardness of being a person, being different, walking through the halls and being present in class with friends and enemies. Our true honest lives.

We all have to deal with the afflictions of life.  It isn’t a struggle to recall our private moments of pain from our past or present. The memories play back in our heads giving that familiar heavy burden we are forced to carry.  It’s easy to relive the cautionary tale that life wrote and directed in the highest definition of sight and sound your mind can produce.

 It could be a specific event or an entire era of your existence, like the inevitable years of High School.  What happened, when did it happen, how did you feel, how do you feel now? What have you learned, gained or lost? 

You will find that you are not alone.  Check out Affliction coming this June!
